Natren® Yogurt Starter 1.75oz

Yogurt has long been known for its beneficial properties, with Bulgarian yogurt being famous for its light, tangy taste and smooth creamy texture. Natren® makes it possible to make your own Bulgarian-style yogurt. You will enjoy the smoothest, freshest, most delicious yogurt ever made.

 

Ingredients (per 1 tsp or 2g):

  • Lactobacillus bulgericus, LB-51: 1 billion cfu
  • Streptococcus thermophilus, BC 122: 1 billion cfu
  • Non-fat milk solids, whey
  • Contains no preservatives or artificial colors and flavors

 

Directions:

Use a commercial yogurt maker or the following oven method. You will need a thermometer, a 3-liter saucepan and a 3-liter deep ovenproof container with a lid. For best results, use 2% or whole cow’s milk. Alternative milks, such as goat and soy, may require more total solids.

  1. Pour 2 liters of your favorite milk into a large saucepan. Heat milk slowly over a low flame to at least 82°C. DO NOT BOIL. Maintain this temperature for at least 5 min.
  2. Allow milk to cool to 42°C-44°C.
  3. Place 1-2 level teaspoons of Yogurt Starter in a 3-liter ovenproof container. Add 2 tablespoons of the lukewarm milk and make a smooth paste. Continue to add milk a small amount at a time, blending thoroughly after each addition until all milk is used.
  4. Place container with lid in oven near pilot light. If no pilot light, wrap container in a thick towel. Let stand for about 8hrs at approximately 42°C-44°C.

  

Storage:

  • Do not freeze or expose to moisture, heat or direct sunlight.
  • Keep refrigerated and dry.

  4. 将容器盖好放在烘炉里,保持温度42°C-44°C,存放8小时后即可。若没有烘炉,也可用干净的毛巾或面巾将容器包好,约8小时,或直到优格凝结即可。

 

保存方式:

请放冰箱冷藏并保持瓶内干燥,不可冷冻或置于阳光直射处。
